No one wants to be involved in an auto injury. Most of us are instantly worried about our car damage but overlook our own injuries. No matter how little pain or stiffness that you have after a collision it's important to be checked out. A visit to a chiropractor trained in soft tissue damage should always follow you auto collision. Dr. Homan has treated many patients involved in auto injuries with great success.
How Can a Chiropractor Help Me After My Auto Accident?
After an auto collision, some people have pain right away. However, a lot of people won't have any pain or stiffness for a couple days. If you experience headaches, neck stiffness, shoulder pain, dizziness, reduced range of motion, and arm pain you may have suffered with a whiplash injury. You can also injure your back, muscles, ligaments and discs. Chiropractors can treat neck, back, and shoulder injuries that are caused by your car accident. Many people just live with the pain and hope that it will just go away on its own. However, when auto injuries are left untreated, these injuries can become a serious or chronic condition.
The first step to get relief from an auto collision injury is to schedule a complimentary consultation in our office to discuss the specifics of your case with Dr. Homan.
Here are some pointers:
See Dr. Homan before you select an attorney. That way the findings from your exam will provide the information you need in order to decide if an attorney is necessary. We have worked with the good, bad, and the ugly since 2001, and will refer you to a reputable and qualified attorney upon request.
If your car only sustained minor damage don't be fooled. The soft tissues of your body can stretch and tear in as little as 5 miles an hour. It is a proven fact that the damage to your body is not directly related to the damage to your car. Anyhow, the cars today are designed to have minimal damage after a collision. That makes you the weak link in the equation. Call and schedule an appointment with Dr. Homan today.
How will you pay for treatment after the auto accident?
Only in very rare circumstances does a patient pay for their care as they go. Our office provides care "on credit" when patients are represented by a reputable attorney and provide our office with all requested insurance information. Ohio car insurance policies have what is called "Med Pay" and Kentucky car insurance policies have "PIP." This is the medical insurance portion of your car insurance that our office bills for services rendered. Our offices will need to obtain this information. Using your car insurance medical coverage should not raise your premiums. If you are on the fence about care, we do offer free consultations if you just want to come in to see if we can help.
Often the Insurance Company wants you to settle with them right after the auto accident. That's because they know that saves them money. There is no need to consider a settlement until you have had Dr. Homan evaluate your injury for you. If you settle before your injury is fully resolved, you will be completely on your own, and will have to pay out of pocket for your care. An insurance adjuster or representative is not a doctor or chiropractor, and has not evaluated you to determine the extent of your injuries or the need for treatment.
Even if you have been to the hospital or to your family doctor it's still a great idea to be evaluated by Dr. Homan. You need a doctor who focuses on the treatment and diagnosis of auto accident injuries. The hospitals will check to make sure there are no life-threatening conditions or broken bones and release the patient with pain relief medication. If you are still having problems, you should get a second opinion. Medicine is helpful, but you must understand that medicine only addresses the symptoms, and does not correct structural issues or help correctly heal soft tissue damage. Chiropractic is designed for that, and we offer these treatments at our office.
Chiropractic care is extremely safe, particularly when compared to the side effects from medication, surgery, or non-treatment. I urge you to go to the patient testimonial tab to get a feel for what you can expect.
Auto Insurance pays 100% in most instances.
